Who would have known, a little over two years ago, when we started this site that we would ever have this many visitors (and have probably had many more due to counter glitches). Our loyal audience comes from all over the world and has supported us in more ways that you can imagine.  Despite our lack of recent updates, we continue to be humbled, and grateful that you choose to visit us to get your Lain information.  We'd especially like to thank those who have been with us since the beginning, who still visit and send us encouraging words! (Thanks again, Miss Jing Lee :-D )  With any luck, we'll be listed again on Anipike soon.

Phew!  Tripod turned us off!  Who knows why? We were generating too many hits??  Well maybe.  At any rate we decided to move to our own cool domain.  Hopefully we'll also offer you lots of great updates too in the future.  During the move we lost some stuff.. like all of our NICE guestbook entries <SOB!!!... and "We Love You Miss Jing Lee!!!!">   Thanks for coming back.  You guys are the BEST!!!

O.K.  I know you never thought it would happen... but it has. We've started to update the site.  Perhaps with the Fall approaching we're more revitalized to do some things that we've let slide since the beginning of the year. The message board crash was a big set-back.  Also, Balto was without reliable video capture equipment for the first part of the year. But now the Episode 9 Graphics Gallery is online and graphics have been incorporated into the Episode 9 Summary as well.   With this episode we've added over 100 new graphics to the site, bringing the total number of graphic files to over 1000.  

Thanks for your support over the last couple years.  Even though we've been slow, we are still committed to making the Cyberia Cafe the most fan-friendly Lain site in the wired.

We've finally solved the message board situation and it should be much to your liking.  No more pop-ups, most of the old messages have been restored, and a much more powerful engine - check it out!

Well after over a year of happy operation, the FrontPage message board software crashed.  The good news is that the data for the posts is still here.. the indexes just got corrupted.  

We've decided to convert to the Tripod message board format.  This gives us much more flexibility to moderate the board.  We also have the ability to add additional message boards easily.

The Cyberia Managers Balto and Shades would like to thank everyone for making the Cyberia Cafe such a great success. We really find it hard to believe that in a little less than a year we've had over 20,000 visitors to our site. Our visitors come from all over the world... from China to South Africa, from Sweden to Chile.  We've made some good online friends.  When we started there were only about 4 English language SEL sites.  Now there are over 20.  SEL has been one of the fastest selling Anime titles every released in the US, and we are proud to have been a part of that success, because it encourages more high-quality anime shows to be distributed here. 

We know its been a long time since we've done any major updates, and assure you that we do have some interesting things planned for the new year.  Our essay on the Religious Elements of Lain is in the works along with finalizing the graphics for the remaining layers.  We've also got a new link banner posted on the opening page!  You can use it to link to us, or update your old (and some say UGLY) banner with the new one.

Again, thank you all for your patience, support, and good wishes.  Our best to all of you for 2000 and beyond.
